Internal Medicine

Dr. Suzanne Daniell - has practiced in Whitefish since 1994 and specializes in Internal Medicine. She attended George Washington University School of Medicine and completed residency and fellowship training in internal Medicine at the University of Washington program in Spokane, WA. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In addition to her clinic practice, she also works at North Valley Hospital as a hospitalist and is a member of the hospital Board of Directors. She has previously served as chief of staff of North Valley Hospital and volunteers at Shepherd’s Hand Clinic. Dr. Daniell and her husband Richard Hildner are avid distance runners, having completed many marathons. They enjoy many outdoor activities in their spare time including fly fishing, backpacking and cross country skiing. They have two adult children, Erika and Shaun. |

Dr. Jay Erickson - is a native of Minnesota. He graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in chemistry. He attended medical school at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Erickson completed a Family Medicine Residency in Spokane, Washington in 1990 and then moved to Whitefish to start practice with Glacier Medical Associates. Dr. Erickson is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has a CAQ in Sports Medicine. He has been active in sports medicine at Whitefish High School. He is a former chief of staff of North Valley Hospital. In 2004, in Dr. Erickson took a part time job with the University of Washington School of Medicine as the Assistant Dean overseeing the Montana WWAMI students and two clinical rural programs in the WWAMI region, WRITE and TRUST. He is the medical director of Shepherd’s Hand Free Clinic and has led a number of trips to the mountains of Ecuador to deliver health care. He lives in Whitefish with his wife, Meg, and they have two college age sons- Andy and Will. He loves to trail run, ski, read and work on wood working projects. |

Dr. Daniel Munzing - graduated from medical school at the University of San Diego in 1989 and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Ventura County Medical Center in 1992. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. His practice includes Pediatrics, General Medicine, and colonoscopies. Dr. Munzing has been practicing Family Medicine in Whitefish since 1992 and is a volunteer at Shepherd’s Hand Clinic. He has 3 children, Skylar, Hans, and Ava. He enjoys hiking and camping. |

Dr. John Kalbfleisch - was born and raised in Shelby, Montana. He did his undergraduate training at Carroll College in Helena, Montana and then went to medical school at the University of Washington in Seattle. He completed his residency in Family Medicine in Spokane, WA in 1992 and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is the Whitefish High School sports medicine program Medical Director. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and former president of the Montana Academy of Family Physicians. He served 9 years on the North Valley Hospital board and is a former chief of staff. He is a Shepherd’s Hand Free Clinic volunteer and on the side coaches baseball and basketball. Dr. Kalbfleisch lives in Whitefish with his wife Lisa and their five children, Kellie, Shannon, Kristin, Jace and Maura. He enjoys watching his kids’ athletics, hunting, and camping. |

Dr. Jon Miller - is a native of Whitefish and a 1989 graduate of Whitefish High School. He did his undergraduate training at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, followed by medical school at the University of Colorado in Denver where he graduated in 1997. He completed his residency in Family Medicine in Spokane, WA in 2000. Dr. Miller is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. In August of 2000 he moved back to Whitefish to begin his practice of family medicine including obstetrics and pediatrics. Dr. Miller has served as chief of staff of North Valley Hospital and as president of the Montana Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Miller also volunteers at Shepherd’s Hand Clinic. He and his wife Tami live in Whitefish with their children, Allison, Erik, Braeden and Carson. He enjoys coaching t-ball and basketball for his sons and he also likes golfing, gardening, hiking, fly fishing, and bow hunting. |

Dr. Jennie Eckstrom - is a native of the Flathead Valley graduating from Flathead High School in 1995. She attended Seattle Pacific University, graduating in 1999 with a minor in Spanish. She then attended the University of Washington for medical school and graduated in 2003. After completing her residency in Family Medicine in Boise, Idaho in June of 2006, she returned home to the Flathead. Dr. Eckstrom is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Eckstrom and her husband, Andrew, live in Whitefish with their daughters, Katherine and Sophia. She enjoys practicing obstetrics and providing newborn care in addition to providing care to the entire family. She also performs colonoscopies for colon cancer screening. She enjoys gardening, photography and spending time with her husband and her two girls. |

Dr. Bayne French - grew up in Eureka, Montana. He attended Carroll College, the University of Montana and Western States Chiropractic College. He received his MD from the University of Washington in 2000 and completed his family medicine residency in Anchorage, Alaska in 2003. Dr. French is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He practiced in remote Alaska for 4 years before returning to Montana with his wife, Cricket and son Highland. They enjoy hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. Dr. French enjoys a broad family medicine practice with special interests in pediatrics, preventive care, and endoscopy. |

Dr. Todd Bergland - Todd Bergland earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Pennsylvania in 1993, his MD at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont in 2002, and in 2005 completed his Family Medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Bergland and his wife, Glenna, a registered nurse, are both former active duty United States Army Officers, and are veterans of the war in Iraq. Their Army careers also took them to Washington State and Germany, and as their Army time drew to a close they decided to look for a small, friendly, mountainous community in which to settle and raise their family. They moved to Whitefish in August 2009 with their infant daughter, Susie and have found the community to be a perfect fit. Susie now has a little sister, Ginger, who was born at North Valley Hospital. The Berglands enjoy taking Susie and Ginger for walks, bike rides, hiking, jogging, skiing, and nearly all other outdoor activities. |

Dr. Kathryn Neff - Graduated from the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine in 1991 and completed her family practice residency in Duluth, Minnesota in 1994. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has special interests in Women’s Health and Geriatrics. Dr. Neff and her husband, Dr. Holdhusen, have lived in Whitefish since 1996 with their three children Will, Rebecca, and Eric. She also enjoys biking, hiking, swimming and playing the fiddle with her family. |

Rayne Beach, Family Nurse Practitioner - Has a BS in nursing from the University of San Francisco with a MS from the University of Utah; ANCC certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Special interests in Women’s Health, Preventive Care and Pediatrics. She is a volunteer at Shepherd’s Hand Clinic and is active with Soroptomist of Whitefish. She and her husband live in Whitefish; they have one married daughter, one daughter in vet school, and the youngest in college in Seattle. She enjoys hiking, cross country skiing and biking. |

Amy Nightengale, Family Nurse Practitioner - Amy graduated with her Masters’ of Science in Nursing from Wichita State University and obtained national certification through American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has enjoyed working in healthcare for over 13 years in different areas-emergency room, family practice clinic, urgent care clinic, nursing home and hospital. Amy moved to Montana with her family from Colorado this past summer. She enjoys running, biking, hiking, reading and outdoor activities with her husband and three young children. |
